Nivia Evans is a book editor currently acquiring science fiction and fantasy titles for Saga Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. She began her publishing career in 2014 at the Overlook Press and later worked at Orbit Books, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, for seven years.Nivia is a 2x Hugo Award nominee for Best Editor and was named Publishers Weekly’s Star Watch “Superstar” in 2020. A graduate of Adelphi University, Nivia teaches at NYU’s Center for Publishing as an adjunct professor. She is committed to uplifting marginalized voices in publishing and often dreams of being as iconic as Pam Grier.
