Nivia Evans is a book editor currently acquiring science fiction, fantasy and horror titles for Tor Publishing Group, a division of Macmillan. She began her publishing career in 2014 at the Overlook Press and later worked at Orbit Books, an imprint of Hachette Book Group, for seven years and Saga Press, an imprint of Simon & Schuster for three years.Nivia is a 2x Hugo Award nominee for Best Editor and was named Publishers Weekly’s Star Watch “Superstar” in 2020. A graduate of Adelphi University, Nivia teaches at NYU’s Center for Publishing as an adjunct instructor. She is committed to uplifting marginalized voices in publishing and often dreams of being as iconic as Pam Grier.
